As Reid and I routinely brought in the mail today, he helped by carrying the larger pieces of junk mail. He kept excitedly yelling, "It says four! It says four!" "Yeah, Sweety. It says four." I replied. "Now come in the house." He didn't relent though and just kept yelling, "It says FOUR, Mom!" I finally leaned down to satisfy him by looking at the piece of mail, expecting to see a number 4. Instead, I saw the word, "for." (!!!) While I do sense that he's on the verge of reading, I can't brag too, hard. =) He recognized the word, as well as the words "in" and "of" because a movie we watch called "Sight Words" teaches young children to simply recognize and memorize high frequency words such as, "and, for, have, he, I, is, it, play, said, that, the, to & you." Pretty cool, huh?
